Air Cooling

Air cooling is the most common and preferred method for cooling electronics packages and systems across industries due to its cost-effectiveness and simplicity. Natural convection and forced convection are the two primary air cooling methods used, selected based on system constraints and thermal performance needs. Advanced technologies like heat pipes and vapor chambers are often integrated at the heat sink level to meet required specifications.

Pantronics India Pvt Ltd specializes in designing and manufacturing various air-cooled solutions, from simple extrusions to high-density, wide extrusion profiles for high heat dissipation applications. We efficiently handle complex heat sink profiles using advanced cooling technologies, ensuring reliable, high-performance solutions that enhance product life and reliability.

Pantronics India Pvt Ltd offers an extensive range of extrusion heat sink solutions designed for both natural and forced convection environments. Utilizing the extrusion method, which involves pushing raw aluminum through an extrusion die, we reduce costs and time compared to traditional machining processes. Our high fin density heat sinks deliver double the performance and surface area without increasing volume. Alongside our standard products, we provide custom solutions cut to length or machined to precise specifications, ensuring the perfect extruded part for your design needs.

Our extrusion heat sink profiles are durable, with fins and base plate formed from a single extrusion piece, ensuring a long lifespan. These high fin density heat sinks are ideal for demanding applications in renewable energy, traction, energy transmission, and large drives. They feature various surface enlargement geometries to match the pressure head and flow rate of fans and blowers. Additionally, with friction stir welding, we can offer widths of up to 1000mm.

Skived Fin Heat Sinks feature highly optimized cooling with higher fin densities achievable compared to extrusion methods. Unlike bonded or brazed alternatives, skived fin heat sinks are crafted from a single piece of material, reducing thermal resistance and improving heat flow. This manufacturing process involves precise slicing and folding of the base material to create fins, enabling high fin density and thin geometries for optimal thermal performance.

Skived fin heat sinks maximize heat transfer by packing more fin surface area into a compact volume, surpassing extruded aluminum counterparts without expensive tooling. Available in aluminum or copper, these heat sinks offer flexible design options and rapid prototyping capabilities for efficient cooling solutions.

These heat sink designs excel in high-power applications requiring efficient heat dissipation in compact spaces. Grooves are intricately carved into the base, with individual fins securely bonded using high thermal conductivity epoxy. This method achieves higher fin densities and aspect ratios compared to standard extrusion techniques, significantly enhancing overall efficiency and performance within the available form factor.

Brazing offers an alternative method for securing fins to the base, providing superior structural integrity and optimal thermal performance. Techniques such as CAB brazing and Vacuum brazing are utilized for manufacturing these heat sinks. Aluminum surfaces are nickel plated to facilitate soldering.
