North Star High Voltage specializes in advanced high voltage probes that set industry standards for precision and reliability. Both probe types are compatible with standard 1 Megohm input oscilloscopes and can be adapted for various meter types upon ordering. We also offer OEM versions for integration into specialized applications.

High Voltage Probes

High voltage measurements have a variety of different requirements, and our PVM series and VD series probes are designed for most of these requirements. The PVM probes are designed for wide bandwidth and ease of portability where a variety of measurements must be made. The VD series probes are designed for use at higher voltage ranges, and where physical stability is required.

PVM Series Portable High Voltage Probes to 60 kV DC​

The PVM series high voltage probes are engineered for versatile applications and exceptional high-frequency response. They are well-suited for various uses including automotive ignition, excimer laser system measurement, and EMI measurement. These probes come factory calibrated, ensuring precision without the need for adjustments. Typically designed for compatibility with 1 Megohm oscilloscopes, they also offer an optional switch to accommodate different measurement instruments, such as 10 Megohm meters. The PVM series is ideal for applications requiring portability and straightforward operation across diverse settings

VD Series High Voltage Probes 60 to 300 kV DC

The VD series high voltage probes are sturdy, floor-standing instruments designed for reliable performance in tough conditions. They are used in various applications such as TV tube manufacturing, radar systems, and particle accelerators. These probes feature precision resistors and stabilized capacitors for consistent operation across temperature, frequency, and voltage changes. Standard toroids minimize stray capacitance for accurate measurements, calibrated for both high and low frequencies before shipment. They require no further adjustments once factory calibrated, ensuring ease of use and reliability.
